Heather Peña

I joined the Environmental Health and Safety group as a Fire Safety Coordinator in 2024, however I am not new to UNC Charlotte. I worked as a Fire and Life Safety Specialist in previous years and am happy to be back!

Currently, I administer several of the Fire and Life Safety programs such as Building Inspections, Event Safety and Permitting, Aerial Lifts, Forklifts, Safety Monitors, Building Evacuation Plans and Emergency Preparedness, as well as provide support for the other Fire and Life Safety programs and EHS teams.

I thoroughly enjoy working to improve the safety culture through education and awareness and promoting a more collaborative setting in the workplace!
