Congratulations Environmental Health and Safety!

The N.C. Department of Labor (NCDOL) has honored UNC Charlotte with its second consecutive Silver Award, recognizing the University’s exceptional commitment to workplace safety and health. The Silver Award is presented to organizations that achieve zero workplace fatalities and maintain exceptionally low rates of cases involving days away from work.

Presented by North Carolina Commissioner of Labor Luke Farley, the award highlights UNC Charlotte’s ongoing efforts to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses while promoting a strong culture of safety across campus.

Accepting the award on behalf of UNC Charlotte were Darius Griffin, Jimmy Petry and Graham Hardy of the University’s Environmental Health & Safety Office.
