ehs Training

To help keep the UNC Charlotte community safe and ensure OSHA compliance, the EHS Office offers a variety of online and instructor-led training courses. You can easily find, register for, and track all of your safety training in one convenient location: the Learning and Development Portal.

access to the portal

  • Log In: Access the Learning and Development Portal using your NinerNet credentials.
  • Complete Required Training: Your training requirements are determined by your specific work environment.
    • Automated New Hire Training: The portal will automatically assign five mandatory safety courses (Back Safety, Building Emergency Evacuation, Fire Safety, Slips/Trips/Falls, and New Employee Safety Orientation) to employees with active NinerNet accounts.  You will receive an email notification when these are ready.
    • Specific Task Safety Training: If your job tasks require additional specialized training not already assigned to you, please review the training required by work environment on the EHS website to determine courses and complete a Training Request Form.
  • Recommended Training: The portal offers recommended injury prevention and safety awareness courses.  To register for courses, please review the course catalog and type the course name in the Portal search bar.

  • Find Courses: Use Browse Training, the Event Calendar, or the full course catalog to search and register for online or instructor-led classes.
  • Track Progress: Use View Your Transcript to check your completed courses and current training status.

supervisors & specialized training

  • For Supervisors: You can easily plan, assign, and track your team’s training directly within the portal.  For more information, please click the supervisors / manager’s link. 
  • Custom Requests: If you need specialized training for specific job tasks—or have a special request—please submit a Training Request Form.
