Heather Peña

I returned to the Environmental Health and Safety group in 2024 as a Fire Safety Coordinator, after working in private industry for a few years. Currently, I am a Contractor Safety Officer and administer various safety programs such as Fall Protection, Contractor Safety, Cranes and Scaffolding, and Theater Safety.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an Associate of Science in Viticulture and Enology at Surry Community College. My experience covers a variety of environmental consulting, contractor and worker safety, agriculture, and manufacturing.

I thoroughly enjoy working to improve the safety culture through education and awareness and promoting a more collaborative setting in the workplace!
