Fire & Life Safety

The Fire & Life Safety team administers compliance programs that increase the campus community’s awareness of fire and life safety. The team specifically provides consultative and enforcement services to ensure institutional compliance with the North Carolina Fire Code (NCFC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

What’s New

  • AED inspections are scheduled for the month of January – February.
  • Building Emergency Evacuation and Fire Safety training courses are due the week of February 15, 2026.  
  • Fire prevention procedures and building emergency evacuation information are included in the Building Emergency Evacuation Plan.  The Emergency Response Plan is maintained by the Office of Emergency Management.  
  • Building inspections are scheduled for February – April 2026. Please feel free to utilize the Building Self-Inspection Checklist Form to conduct a self-inspection of your area to address any fire safety violations.
