The University voluntarily engages in a compliance program with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina. The laboratory and research safety program is designed to minimize the risk of injury or illness to laboratory worker by ensuring employees and students are trained and equipped with the information to work safely in the laboratory. EHS provides support and guidance to faculty, staff, students, lab supervisors and managers and other Charlotte community members. We assist with the development and implementation of appropriate lab safety practices and programs.
